 Director identification Number : -

 Director identification number(DIN) concept comes into existence with  introduction of New section 266. Before this section DIN was not mandatory for Director of a company. Presently DIN  is mandatory to become a Director of a Company. An individual  person cannot appointment as a Director without DIN.

Who will apply for Director identification Number :-
  The person who wants to become a director can apply in application E form -DIN 1 to Central Govt.   for allotting DIN.
  If a person appointed as a director before Company (Amendment ) 2006 , such person will have to  apply for DIN within 60(sixty ) days application e form -DIN 1,along with application fee which  determined by Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

Document required for Director Identification Number :-.

 Attach the photograph and scanned copy of supporting documents i.e. proof of identity, and proof of residence
as per the guidelines. Physical documents are not necessary to submit at DIN.

 Allotment of DIN  :-
Central Govt. will allot DIN the person who send prescribed application form & requisite fee. Central Govt. will allot DIN within 1 month.

 Penalty  :  If a person disobey the the section 266A 266 C shall be punishable with Rs. 5000.                               If default continues he will have to pay Rs. 500 (five hundred) per day.

 Restriction : -  An individual who has apply DIN will not apply again & again.
